Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Traffic Engineer to work around Bexleyheath. The role is full-time on a temporary basis with a pay rate of £18.25 per hour.

You will design traffic management and highway improvement schemes, prepare TROs, analyse data, conduct site visits and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop traffic management and highway improvement schemes.
• Prepare traffic regulation orders (TROs), traffic calming measures, parking schemes, and junction improvements.
• Analyse traffic, accident, parking, and transport data to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Undertake site visits, surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
• Produce technical reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Respond to enquiries from residents, councillors, developers, and stakeholders.
• Support the delivery of road safety initiatives and sustainable transport projects.
• Manage external consultants and contractors where required.
• Ensure schemes comply with current legislation, regulations, design standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Attend public consultations, meetings, and stakeholder engagement events.
