Traffic Dispatcher

Full Time 40 hours

Shift Hours: 07:30 – 16:00, with coverage for PM shifts during holidays or absences

Role Overview:

The Traffic Dispatcher is responsible for managing the daily operations of the depot, including vehicle allocation and routing. You will ensure excellent service delivery to customers, maintain health & safety standards, and ensure environmental and O licence compliance.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Optimising routes and vehicle utilisation for top-class service.
  • Managing driver availability and compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing vehicle checks, safety, and maintenance.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as payroll, timesheets, tachograph records, and reporting.
  • Driving cost-efficiency by analysing depot data and improving operations.

This role involves hands-on engagement with employee initiatives and operational improvements.

Essential Requirements:

  • Good knowledge of the local area.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Solutions-driven mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with business software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience in admin, call handling, or a time-critical environment is advantageous.
