Job summary

Harrington Starr in London/ Newcastle seeks a Senior C#.NET Electronic Trading Engineer to join a leading institutional digital asset firm. Build low-latency IRD trading systems with FIX connectivity, optimise for live trading, and collaborate with traders, quants and product teams.

You will develop core server-side C#.NET components and work across order management, market connectivity and price distribution in a hybrid work setup with strong salary and equity potential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Microsoft tech development in trading systems.
• Excellent core .NET and C# skills with concurrency knowledge.
• Proven experience in low latency pricing and trading systems.
• Strong profiling and optimisation in live trading conditions.
• Experience in low latency messaging (FIX, Aeron, 29West) and encodings.

Responsibilities

• Build next generation low-latency IRD trading systems from ground up.
• Develop core server-side C#.NET components across OMS, market connectivity, latency messaging, price distribution.
• Work deep in the stack: profiling, optimisation, tuning under live trading.
• Create applications for FIX Connectivity development.
• Collaborate with front office traders, quants and product teams.
• Own issues end-to-end from design to production support.
• Contribute to the technical strategy of a fast-growing trading platform.

What you will do

• Develop core server-side C#.NET components across order management, market connectivity, low latency messaging and price distribution.

• Application building for advanced FIX Connectivity development.
• Collaborate closely with front office traders, quants and product teams.
• Own issues end-to-end — from design through to production support.

What you need:

• 10+ years of relevant Microsoft tech development experience within Trading systems environment.
• Excellent core .NET and C# skills and exceptional knowledge of concurrency and multithreaded programming.
• Proven experience developing low latency pricing and trading systems including event driven architecture.
• Strong application performance profiling and optimisation skills.
• Experience working in a low latency, zero GC environment (eFX or similar a strong plus).
• Knowledge of institutional encodings (FIX, SBE) and low latency messaging (e.g. Aeron, 29West).
• Familiarity with fault tolerant, high availability, distributed computing.
• A right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
