The Role:
We are looking to recruit the next generation of to join our team.
The primary focus of this role will be around tobacco and vape enforcement.
Opportunity will also be provided to become involved in the wider challenging aspects of being a Trading Standards regulator. As a trainee Trading Standards Officer, you will be supported through a structured training programme with a talented and experienced team. You will be working towards recognised professional qualifications and have the opportunity to go on to qualify as a Trading Standards Officer capable of working across the full spectrum of disciplines, covering areas such as animal health, environmental safety, fair trading, feed, food, product safety, underage sales and weights and measures.

What you’ll do:
- Develop and learn skills and knowledge to contribute towards Hampshire Trading Standards’ strategic vision of creating and maintaining a safe and fair-trading environment where Hampshire businesses can thrive, and Hampshire's consumers can buy goods and services with confidence.
- Act as advisors, educators and enforcers to help protect consumers and legitimate businesses within Hampshire.
- Investigate complaints and inspect premises to ensure businesses trade fairly, comply with consumer protection legislation and supply products which are safe.
- Follow the Level 6 Trading Standards Professional Apprenticeship for 36 months with the opportunity to continue developing skills beyond this qualification through specific training.
