Job description

Our client, a Local Authority in the West Midlands, is looking for a qualified Trading Standards Officer to join their team on a contract running from October 2026 to March 2027. The role covers physical site inspections across Warwickshire, alongside handling complaints and providing business advice. The client is seeking expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: product safety, legal metrology, and feed hygiene.

Candidates should be qualified Trading Standards Officers with demonstrable current competency in at least one of the areas above. You'll need strong investigative and inspection skills, sound judgement in assessing compliance, and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with businesses and members of the public. Experience managing a varied caseload independently, along with a practical, methodical approach to casework, will be essential. They are looking to pay £45PH.

This role runs from October 2026 to March 2027, based in Warwickshire, West Midlands.
