Job summary

Hargreaves Lansdown is recruiting a Head of Trading Services to shape the trading capability at the heart of the Brokerage business. You will lead the Dealing Desk, own the service model, controls and performance across the full trading lifecycle, ensuring fair and efficient access to markets for clients.

Reporting to the Brokerage Director, you will drive day-to-day performance, risk management and continuous improvement across Trading Services, collaborating with Product, Technology,

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within retail brokerage or financial markets.
• Deep understanding of retail brokerage execution models.
• Knowledge of equities, ETFs, funds and trade execution workflows.
• Experience leading dealing, trading operations or execution teams.
• Understanding of Best Execution, Consumer Duty and operational resilience.
• Experience managing brokers, market makers, liquidity providers.

Responsibilities

• Set the Trading Services strategy and operating model.
• Lead the Dealing Desk to ensure clear order routing and execution.
• Maintain supervision and incident response for market events.
• Develop services for complex client needs like worked orders and liquidity sourcing.
• Monitor execution quality, fill rates and pricing outcomes.
• Oversee broker and counterparty performance and liquidity arrangements.
• Lead a ~15 person team with a focus on client outcomes and risk awareness.
