Job summary

Hargreaves Lansdown plc is seeking a Head of Trading Services in Bristol to lead the Dealing Desk and own the service model, controls and performance across the full trading lifecycle. You will work with Product, Technology, Operations and Risk to ensure fair, reliable access to markets and robust client outcomes.

Your responsibilities include setting strategy and operating models, managing ~15 colleagues, overseeing best execution, and driving improvements across order capture to fulfilment.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience within retail brokerage or financial markets.
• Deep knowledge of retail brokerage execution models and order routing.
• Experience leading dealing or trading operations teams with strong governance.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Solid understanding of best execution, regulatory requirements and risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Dealing Desk, ensuring clear capture, routing and fulfilment of client orders.
• Maintain supervision and quality assurance across complex orders and volatile markets.
• Develop services for high-value client needs, including worked orders and liquidity sourcing.
• Monitor execution quality, fill rates, pricing outcomes and client impact.
• Oversee best execution and Consumer Duty compliance with Risk, Compliance and Ops teams.
• Manage brokers, market makers and execution counterparties for service performance.
• Ensure control frameworks, risk appetite and incident remediation are in place.
• Provide leadership on trading improvements and regulatory changes.
