Job Description

Quant Capital is hiring on behalf of a leading global trading firm for a Trading Operations Engineer to join its Chesterfield team. This role offers high exposure within a small, technically skilled operations group supporting a multi-asset, multi-venue trading environment.

You will work on reconciliations, trade support, cash and collateral management, and process automation to ensure the firm’s trading infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently. Role Overview

This position provides hands-on experience with trading systems, operational processes, and financial products throughout the trade lifecycle. Responsibilities include building and automating workflows, monitoring risk, liaising with brokers and exchanges, and developing new tools and reports in collaboration with engineering teams.

This is embedded, high-leverage work within a technical, high-trust environment—not back-office operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily reconciliations of cash, positions, and trading activity
• Manage broker and exchange relationships and resolve operational issues
• Monitor live risk and escalate issues as needed
• Develop and maintain automated tools using Python, Go, and SQL
• Support cash, margin, and collateral flows across multiple venues
• Handle reporting including P&L, risk, treasury, and regulatory checks
• Participate in on-call support rotations
• Assist with onboarding of new products, brokers, and venues
• Contribute to ad hoc analysis and data reporting projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Maths, Engineering, or Computer Science (minimum 2:1)
• 2–3 years of experience in trading operations or similar environment
• Proficiency in Python or Go scripting; SQL for data queries and manipulation
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration experience
• Self-motivated with ownership and scalable problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with at least one asset class from an operational or support perspective
