Trading Operations Assistant - 2025 Graduates Maths/Stats /Economics - 2.1 & Above

Graduate Opportunity

Suitable for Maths, Economics, Physics or similar - 2:1 & above - Trading Operations Assistant (not financial trading) - Central London - Salary up to £33,000 dependent on skills & experience - J12969

Candidates applying for this role will agree to work on a shift pattern basis with early mornings and late evenings, including 50% weekend work. Please only apply if you are comfortable with these shifts.

Working in the field of global sports trading, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with large amounts of data and in an environment filled with highly qualified and inspiring individuals. As part of their operations team, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring their trading activities globally via the trading platform. You should have high attention to detail, be confident to speak up on errors, and be eager to grow and succeed.

Responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring and operating trading platforms which run 24/7
2. Spotting inconsistencies, errors, and unusual behavior
3. Developing insights into customer, counterparty, and market behavior
4. Liaising with traders, counterparties, and trading venues on an ad hoc basis
5. Helping troubleshoot issues that arise in the trade cycle
6. Collaborating with developers and traders to improve platform functionality

Skills required:

1. Education to BSc level, ideally in a mathematical or scientific subject
2. Good proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
3. Ability to quickly learn new applications
4. Meticulous attention to detail
5. High numeracy skills, including understanding probabilities
6. Ability to handle different time zones and currencies
7. Confidence in making informed trading decisions
8. Good organizational skills and a structured approach to work
9. Knowledge of SQL is desirable but can be learned on the job
10. Strong interpersonal skills and a responsible attitude
11. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekend rotation
12. Initiative and self-starting attitude, comfortable with both existing and new projects
