Job summary

PX Group in Stockton-on-Tees is recruiting a Trading & Commercial Operator to join the Energy Solutions 24/7 shift team. You will manage a range of gas and electricity trading contracts for multiple customers, delivering tasks within energy logistics, and supporting on-the-job training and development.

The role emphasizes customer-focused service, data handling, and adherence to trading codes and standards, with opportunities for mentoring, performance reviews, and a flexible benefits package.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Experience in a busy, commercial and customer-focused environment.
• Interest in and understanding of trading and commercial considerations.
• Excellent customer communication skills with professional and positive behaviour.
• Proven capability to apply calculations and numerical applications.
• Intermediate level in Microsoft Office and data management systems.
• Microsoft Excel: confidently utilise worksheets for data management and basic formulas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all Energy Solutions gas and power contracts are serviced to a high standard.
• Contribute to and support the development and compliance of relevant commercial policies, procedures and strategies.
• Monitor gas and power service user requirements and complete portfolio-specific activities.
• Maintain clear communications and data flows with all parties.
• Keep procedures updated and accessible for users.
• Monitor the UK gas and power market to participate in trading following codes of practice.
• Remain up to date with industry knowledge, legislation and best practice.

Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Trading & Commercial Operator.

In this role you will work as part of the Energy Solutions 24/7 shift team and manage a range of contracts with several customers to deliver tasks within the gas and electricity trading & energy logistics.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all Energy Solutions gas and power contracts are serviced to a high standard.
• Contribute to, and support the development and compliance of, all relevant commercial policies, procedures, and strategies
• Monitor gas & power service user requirements, utilising the systems and, where relevant, complete various portfolio specific activities including but not limited to: asset optimisation, upstream production commercial management, UK gas trading, UK electricity trading & UK gas shipping.
• Ensure necessary and effective communications (including data flows) are maintained with all parties.
• Maintain procedures and update continually, ensuring that they remain relevant and user friendly.
• Monitor the UK gas & power market with a view to participating in trading on the market following strict codes of practice.
• Be recognised as a specialist in this area by remaining up to date with industry knowledge, legislation, trends, key organisations and best practice.

Minimum Requirements

• GCSE English & Maths – Grade 4/C & above (or equivalent)
• Experienced in contributing to a busy, commercial & customer-focused environment.
• Demonstrated interest in and understanding of relevant trading and commercial considerations.
• Excellent customer communication skills with professional and positive behaviour in the workplace.
• Proven capability and confidence to apply calculations & numerical applications
• Intermediate level in application & use of Microsoft Office & data management systems
• Microsoft Excel: Ability to confidently utilise worksheets for data management and application of basic formulas.
