Overview

A Japanese global trading company is currently seeking to recruit a Trading Assistant in their Food Group. This role involves handling cocoa and sugar physical shipments, and SAP entries. The ideal candidate should be an all-round flexible team player to support in their Food Department with the capability and mindset to develop new skills.

TYPE: Full-time, permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:30AM – 4:30PM with occasional overtime till 7.00PM when covering Future order execution (up to 20 hours). Required starting at 8am on Japanese bank holidays (finish at 4pm in this case).

SALARY: £31-34K depending on experience

LOCATION: Central London (Office-based role with the potential for hybrid working (2 days working from home) after successful completion of probationary period)

Trading Assistant Main Responsibilities
  • Handle cocoa/sugar shipments, related correspondence, payments and SAP entries, issue invoices, communicate with suppliers/customers related shipping side.
  • Settle despatch/demurrage money for sugar to place future orders for cocoa/sugar/coffee
  • Send execution results and check trade on recap/statement
  • Handle cocoa/sugar physical shipment (SAP entry)
  • Handle administrative jobs for future operation
  • General administrative jobs for cocoa/sugar/coffee department (Future market order)
  • Perform margin money management and monthly reconciliation between broker's statement and SAP balance
  • Liquidate future position and do related administrative jobs
  • Additional ad hoc duties as required
Trading Assistant Ideal Candidate
  • Language: English written and spoken (Business level)
