Job summary

The Economist is seeking a highly analytical Trading Analyst to support subscription performance reporting, analysis, and insight generation. You will work with the Head of Trading and cross-functional teams to track subscriber trends from traffic to engagement to retention.

You will contribute to forecasting, discount efficiency, and performance targets while ensuring accurate, timely dashboards and reports for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets for data manipulation and reporting.
• Ability to distill data into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills to explain performance drivers to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead weekly reviews tracking engagement, retention and customer metrics.
• Represent customer team in weekly trading reviews with Finance and Data.
• Build and maintain timely performance reports and dashboards across subscriber metrics.
• Monitor discount usage trends and flag opportunities or risks.
• Prepare summaries and insights for senior stakeholders during monthly reviews.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analyses to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with Head of Trading and Data to validate data and surface insights.
• Help define benchmark metrics and performance targets.
• Support development of subscriber lifetime value frameworks.
