Hours: The hours of work will be hours per week, - Monday to Thursday & - on Friday, and full in office working.
The following details the job requirements:
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Jobholder will be required to:

Ideally no more than 6-8 criteria in this section
Experience
1. Working knowledge and experience of carrying out joinery and building maintenance repairs.
2. Working knowledge and experience in the use of woodworking machinery and hand / power tools.
3. Working knowledge and experience of undertaking tasks of other engineering trade groups.
Qualifications/ Registration
1. Must have completed a formal apprenticeship as a carpenter/joiner.
2. In addition to his/her apprenticeship, the applicant must hold a relevant qualification at least at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) together with a minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience (see above for definition of Experience*)
3. Hold 'Competent Person' certified training in the following work areas:
· Operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs)
Candidates without training listed in item 3 only must complete within 12 months of appointment.
Other
Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by The Organisation which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.

Skills / Abilities
1. Excellent communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
2. Ability to work accurately and produce work of a high standard under pressure and to strict deadlines.
3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs to the post in fully including out-of-hours emergency cover, bank holidays and/or weekend working.
5. Willing to undergo appropriate training if required.
Knowledge
1. Working knowledge of maintenance activities in a healthcare building environment.
2. Working knowledge and experience in the use of workshop machinery and hand/ power tools
3. Working knowledge of electrical engineering building services.
4. Working knowledge and experience of undertaking tasks of other trade groups.
