We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Tradesperson to join our Facilities team!

The successful candidate will be expected to work across campus unassisted or within a team depending on the works being carried out, working closely with other trades and handypersons and at times they may need to assist or work alongside external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

The Tradesperson (Electrical) will carry out minor installations, maintenance, and reactive repairs on the electrical infrastructure and services across the estate.

You may be required to work a flexible schedule outside of the usual shift pattern, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work, depending on business needs. You will also be part of the out-of-hours call-out rota within the trades team.

While working mainly independently but also as part of the wider Estates team, your communication and customer care skills will be vital in completing tasks and addressing queries and situations that arise daily. As this is a support role, professionalism, discretion, tact, diplomacy, and attention to detail are essential.

The Estates & Facilities Services Directorate provides comprehensive estates and facilities management, including property maintenance, planned maintenance, renovation, cleaning, security, and caretaking, creating spaces for staff and students.

The Facilities Management team ensures buildings and estates are functional, pleasant, and fit for purpose across all campuses.
