SSE plc in Oxford, Cirencester, Swindon area is seeking an experienced Civil Crafts/Tradesperson to join our on-site team. You will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures.

This role covers painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing and wiring, ensuring maintenance of operational buildings within SSE. You will work to ESQCR/CDM requirements and contribute to a safe, reliable network.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a construction trade.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good health and safety awareness.
• Strong written and spoken communication across all levels.
• IT skills to record and update data.

Responsabilités

• Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing and other building upkeep activities.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and escalate risks.
• Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
• Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world-class service.

Salary:£36,139 - £43,188 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Onsite

We are looking for an experienced Civil Crafts/Tradesperson to join our team.

As a craftsperson you will undertake running repairs to electrical substation buildings and enclosures.

This will typically include the following activity types; painting, fencing, carpentry, brick laying, small roofing, small wiring, windows / glazing and any other adhoc activities that will assist in the installation, repair, and upkeep of operational buildings within SSEN.

You will:

• Plan and perform tasks such as painting, fencing, carpentry, bricklaying, small roofing/wiring, glazing, and other building upkeep activities under ESQCR regulations.
• Carry out risk assessments and follow Lone Working Procedures; stop work if health and safety rules are breached and escalat[e] immediate risks promptly.
• Apply correct Health and Safety risk assessments to mitigate hazards effectively.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations when working with external contractors and report issues to the civils compliance coordinator or team manager.
• Represent SSE professionally, respond to enquiries, and monitor satisfaction to deliver world-class service.

You have:

• Proven Background in a construction trade
• Ability to work alone
• A good level of Health and Safety awareness
• Excellent communication skill and the ability of speak with people at all levels
• IT skills to enable the recording and updating of all required data.

A full UK driving licence and flexible approach to working hours and work location is a must. Company vehicle will be provided for work duties.
