The University of York is seeking a semi-skilled maintenance worker for the Estates Operations & Maintenance team. The role focuses on reactive maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and minor works improvements on campus and online facilities.

You will join a rota pattern to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with a 5-out-of-7-day regime when required. Full UK driving licence and safety awareness are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (required).
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Experience in reactive maintenance and minor works.
• Ability to use technology for recording purposes.

The Directorate of Estates is responsible for providing outstanding work, study, research facilities, and facilities to enhance the student experience, on campus and online.

Role

This role is part of the Estates Operations & Maintenance team. The main purpose of the role is to carry out semi-skilled reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) reactive maintenance and minor works improvements. You will be part of a rota shift pattern to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You need to be able to work, when necessary, a 5 out of 7-day regime.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

• Full UK Driving Licence
• General knowledge of health and safety
• Evidence of practical experience in reactive maintenance/minor works
• Ability to use technology for recording purposes
