IRC224872 – TRADER (HEAVIES)

At Eni, we are looking for a Trader (Heavies) within ETB in London. You will be responsible for contributing to the development and execution of the heavier products trading strategy of ETB, negotiating and concluding market transactions on a spot/term basis within an agreed strategy to generate value for ETB.

Starting from January 1, 2021, Eni Trade & Biofuels SpA (ETB), fully owned by Eni SpA, handles the international trading of crude oil, petroleum products, bio-fuels, and related financial derivatives for the Eni group. ETB manages Eni’s oil production, sourcing hydrocarbon and bio feedstock, and marketing products from its refineries and petrochemical arm Versalis.

ETB also manages maritime transportation, logistics, and oil risk management services, trading commodity derivatives on regulated and OTC markets. Its global presence includes the UK, Italy, Singapore, and Houston, USA.

Responsibilities at ETB include:

  • Locating and acquiring optimal feedstock for Eni’s refining system;
  • Selling Eni’s refining and petrochemical products to the best buyers;
  • Developing asset-backed trading strategies;
  • Supporting the development of long-term trading strategies;
  • Building relationships with trading companies, refiners, and end users;
  • Analyzing market developments and intelligence;
  • Supporting long-term asset and contractual development;
  • Coordinating physical movements with shipping and operations;
  • Mentoring trading analysts;
  • Accurately entering transaction details into the trading system;
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and principles.

Ideal candidate skills and requirements:

  • Degree in a numerate field such as Engineering, Mathematics, or Economics;
  • Experience in trading and with derivative instruments for hedging;
  • Knowledge of market fundamentals and analysis;
  • Beneficial experience in refining operations;
  • Proficiency in IT software and trading-specific tools;
  • Full command of English (written & spoken); additional languages are a plus.
