Job summary

Qualifications

• Hands-on trade surveillance experience in finance
• Strong data manipulation and SQL skills
• Ability to drive improvements with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review daily surveillance alerts across client-facing and proprietary flows, ensuring timely disposition.
• Investigate market abuse, insider trading, and other trading anomalies across asset classes; escalate as needed.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of trading activity underpinning alerts, synthesising transactional data, market data, client risk profiles, and timing.
• Document investigation findings in line with compliance procedures.
• Drive changes to refine alert parameters, tune detection logic, and rewrite alert definitions to balance risk and reduce noise.
• Collaborate on design and development of internal tooling to streamline workflows and stand up monitoring platforms.
• Work with technology teams to optimise data feeds and surveillance infrastructure.
• Take ownership of process and data improvement initiatives end-to-end.
• Assist with periodic reviews, regulatory requests, and audit queries.
• Contribute to ongoing enhancements of the surveillance framework and data architecture.
