Job summary

Mako is recruiting a Compliance & Surveillance Analyst to lead trade surveillance and broader compliance duties across the group. The role requires practical surveillance expertise, independent judgment and a mindset for continuous improvement.

Interest in AI and new tech is encouraged. The successful candidate will manage surveillance reporting, QA, incident investigations and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictions, while supporting traders and the business with practical compliance

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in law, finance, economics or related discipline.
• ICA certificate/diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 4–5 years' compliance experience in a trading/regulated financial services environment.
• Practical trade surveillance experience and good understanding of market‑abuse risks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee trade surveillance arrangements and QA of alerts.
• Investigate escalations and provide STOR/ no-STOR recommendations.
• Lead annual MAR risk assessment and review surveillance parameters.
• Support business with practical compliance guidance and CMP testing.
• Drive process improvement, automation and technology initiatives in compliance.
