Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is recruiting experienced trade operatives in Birmingham for a brand new long-term social housing contract starting in November. Roles include Multi Trade Operative, Plumber and Carpenter, with a focus on safer, quality repairs in occupied homes and responsive maintenance.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade and a full UK driving licence. Competitive salary from £35,530 with potential for up to £39,586, plus weekly pay, vehicle

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Health & Safety first—keep workers and residents safe and supported.
• Multi trade work—finish second fix tasks in occupied residential properties (joinery, plumbing, plastering).
• Customer focused—engage with residents in domestic environments and work with the team.
• Problem solving—fault finding in domestic settings to resolve issues.
• Responsive repairs—attend reactive, emergency and routine repairs, with some planned refurbishment in void properties (rota-based).

Competitive basic salary of £35,530 with the potential to earn up to £39,586

What will you be doing:

• Health & Safety first -We're committed to keeping you safe, happy, and supported. Safety is central to every aspect of this role, for you, us, and our customers.
• Multi trade work -Complete second fix tasks in occupied residential properties, including joinery, plumbing, and plastering.
• Customer focused -Enjoy working in domestic environments, engaging with residents and collaborating with your team.
• Problem solving -Apply fault finding skills in domestic settings to resolve issues effectively.
• Responsive repairs -Attend reactive, emergency, and routine repairs, with occasional planned refurbishment in void properties. (Emergency call out on a rota basis)

What you will bring to the role:

You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade, ideally with experience in domestic or social housing environments, desirable, but not essential.

With a genuine passion for improving people’s homes, you bring strong customer service skills and enjoy working with others. A full UK driving licence is required.
