Job description

Trade Operative - Joiner

Salary: £36,353 - £38,267 per year

Hours: 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Trade Operative – Joiner to join our void team based in Aberdeen. You will work on properties across the region, including both new and old stock, with skills in disciplines such as joinery, plastering, plumbing, tiling, and painting. The role involves working as part of a six-person team to bring voids up to re-let standard, with occasional lone working and opportunities to collaborate with the wider team. The position includes a company van and tools, covering sites across the area.

Responsibilities
  • Perform various joinery repairs, including replacing doors, lifting and replacing floors, and fitting kitchens, doors, and windows.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
  • Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns, resolving issues or initiating solutions while keeping customers informed.
  • Provide accurate and timely updates on work progress in a clear manner to customers.
Skills and qualifications
  • Qualified to SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in a relevant core subject, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Good communication and customer care skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize workloads.
  • Full valid UK driving licence, as the role involves driving a company vehicle.

Candidates will be required to bring original certification to the interview to verify qualifications; copies and CSCS cards are not accepted.

The salary for this role is £33,049, with an additional policy allowance of £3,304 per annum, increasing to £34,788 plus £3,478 after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance.
