Position Overview:
As the Trade Finance Operations Team Leader, you will be pivotal in managing a team responsible for administering all operational aspects of trade finance products across EMEA branches and subsidiaries. Your expertise will ensure that trade finance operations are executed accurately, efficiently, and timely, thereby supporting our clients in navigating the complexities of international trade.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Trade Finance Operations team, ensuring compliance with workflows and procedures.
• Conduct regular checks and approvals of work produced by team members, maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
• Serve as an authorised signatory for trade finance transactions, managing financial obligations of the organisation.
• Foster close relationships with internal teams and external customers to provide technical assistance related to trade products.
• Identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation plans to safeguard the organisation against potential threats.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, motivating and training staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• In-depth knowledge of traditional trade finance products, including Documentary Letters of Credit, Stand-by Letters of Credit, and Guaranteed Collections.
• Experience in structuring trade finance transactions and understanding the associated operational risks.
• Strong understanding of maritime law, international commercial terms, and the legal framework governing trade products.
• Ability to identify and address financial crime risks within trade finance operations, including knowledge of sanctions regimes.
• Familiarity with accounting principles related to trade finance products and a solid grasp of shipping terms and international trade flows.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team in a dynamic environment.
