Arbuthnot Yon Ltd is actively seeking an experienced Trade Finance Lawyer to join the EMEA Corporate Lending Legal team at Director level, focusing on drafting and advising on complex trade finance documentation and cross-border transactions.

You will liaise with front office and internal stakeholders, providing practical solutions and driving structuring of credit deals, backed by global experience and cultural awareness.

Qualifications

• Must be a trade finance specialist with breadth and depth across trade areas.
• Experience handling global and cross-border transactions.
• A generalist across trade within trade finance.
• Sensitive to working with different cultures.

Our client is a global financial services organisation who provides specialist corporate and investment banking services to an international client base. This business has a strong and growing presence throughout Europe having and continues to harness a consistent and stable flow of deals – so it is a great time to join them.

As a result of this strong performance, the EMEA legal team is now looking for an experienced Trade Finance Lawyer to join their Corporate Lending Legal team at Director level.

What will the role involve:

• Drafting, reviewing and advising on a broad range of complex finance documentation (BAFT, LMA etc.) with a particular focus on trade finance documentation;
• Supporting and advising on the structuring and execution of such bespoke and complex transactions in accordance with internal requirements and policies and external regulations;
• Liaise and build relationships quickly with internal stakeholders, and the front office/trade bankers, and assist them with structuring credit deals;
• Being a problem-solver, and offer solutions;

What skill-sets are we looking for?

• You must be a trade finance specialist, and be able to hit the ground running in this area;
• And within trade finance, you must be a generalist across trade spanning a variety of different areas of trade;
• You must have global and cross-border experience;
• Exact PQE is not important, as long as you have demonstrable experience in trade finance, with breadth and depth to your experience;
• Someone who is adept at, and sensitive to, working with different cultures.
