Job summary

Service Care is seeking a skilled Trade Engineer (Carpenter) in Solihull to perform repairs, maintenance and planned works across residential properties, public buildings and commercial premises. The role focuses on void kitchens and bathrooms, reporting to the Supervisor and ensuring high workmanship standards.

Applicants should hold a City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (essential) and ideally Level 3. A CSCS card and full UK driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry is essential.
• Advanced Craft City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry is desirable.
• CSCS Card or equivalent is required.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Strong experience across all aspects of carpentry.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Social housing experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs, installations and planned works.
• Undertake associated multi-skilled tasks where required.
• Complete repairs and refurbishments within void kitchens and bathrooms.
• Diagnose and rectify faults within your trade.
• Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety, regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Manage company equipment, materials and van stock.
• Work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Participate in an emergency call-out rota where applicable.
• Work flexibly between 8am and 6pm, Monday–Friday, as required.

Trade Engineer (Carpenter) Location: Solihull Salary: £ 24.65p/h Contract: 3 months, with potential to go permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Monday–Thursday: 8am–4pm | Friday: 8am–3:30pm

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and qualified Trade Engineer (Carpenter) to join our Voids Team. Reporting to the Supervisor, you’ll carry out repairs, maintenance and planned works across residential properties, public buildings and commercial premises, with a particular focus on void kitchens and bathrooms.
