Job summary

Plumb Centre in Exeter (Wolseley Group) is hiring a Sales Assistant to serve trades customers and support branch operations. You will understand customer needs, offer product recommendations, and respond to enquiries by phone and email with a proactive approach.

Role includes assisting with warehouse duties, maintaining high branch standards, and building relationships to boost branch sales. 40 hours weekly, with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Previous face to face customer service/sales experience is essential.
• Prior industry or trade experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and to take on a diverse role.
• Proactive and eager to learn, demonstrating a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets.
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch.
