Job summary

Plumbase Stoke is seeking a Trade Counter Sales Advisor who goes beyond simply serving customers. You will own relationships with local tradespeople, build quotes, manage accounts and drive new business opportunities to grow the site’s revenue and margin.

You’ll engage with trade customers, re-engage dormant accounts and work with suppliers on stock and pricing decisions, while maintaining strong product knowledge across plumbing and heating. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing/heating industry or builders merchant preferred.
• Confidence dealing with trade customers and building long-term relationships.
• Commercial mindset with awareness of margin and pricing opportunities.
• Proactive approach and ability to generate business by phone or in person.
• Strong product knowledge or ability to learn quickly.
• Hands-on attitude and willingness to be involved in all site areas.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Serve trade and retail customers on the counter and build relationships that drive repeat business.
• Build quotes, manage orders and take ownership of customer accounts.
• Develop new business by engaging local tradespeople and bringing new accounts on board.
• Re-engage dormant and low-spend customers to grow revenue.
• Work with the Manager on pricing, stock decisions and supplier relationships.
• Participate in trade events and customer visits to drive sales.
• Maintain strong product knowledge across plumbing and heating to advise customers.
• Support wider site operations including picking, packing and site efficiency.
