Job summary

Eurocell is seeking a Trade Counter Assistant / Driver for a 6-month fixed term contract. The role combines counter sales with product knowledge and driving duties to customers, using 3.5-tonne trucks and vans.

You will support branch operations, assist with stock, ensure safety and quality standards, and contribute to achieving sales targets while maintaining excellent customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day branch operations with the Branch Manager and Supervisor.
• Sell to trade counter customers and communicate product knowledge to meet targets.
• Provide excellent customer service to new and existing customers.
• Load and deliver products using Eurocell's 3.5 tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans.
• Plan routes, drive safely, and keep company vehicles clean.
• Support branch activities to achieve sales targets and maintain relationships.
• Ensure health and safety, policy, and procedure compliance.
• Maintain stock levels and branch standards including stock control and front-of-house.

ROLE: Trade Counter Assistant / Driver- 6 Months Fixed Term Contract

HOURS: 44 per Week - Permanent Role, 7am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, 8am - 12pm on a Saturday Rota

SALARY: £29,080.48 basic salary per year

BONUS/OTE: Realistic total earning potential of up to £32,680.48 per year

WHAT OUR TRADE COUNTER ASSISTANTS DO:

• Are hands-on, lead by example, and work closely with the Branch Manager and Branch Supervisor in day to day branch operations
• Responsible for trade counter sales to achieve sales targets, confidently communicating product knowledge to customers
• Provide exceptional customer service and support to new and existing customers
• Pick, load and deliver products to customers via Eurocell's 3.5 tonne flatbed trucks and LWB vans
• Responsible for route planning, safe driving and keeping the Company vehicle clean
• Support the Branch Manager with actions and activities on time, in full
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, company policies and procedures
• Ensure excellence in customer service, operational standards and Branch sales targets are achieved
• Support the delivery of sales targets whilst developing and maintaining positive customer relationships
• Assist with the delivery of branch operations
• Provide support and assistance to Branch colleagues as required
• Maintain branch standards - including warehouse and stock management, front of house cleanliness and point of sale

WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR TRADE COUNTER ASSISTANTS:

• Passion and energy to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business targets
• A hands-on customer focused approach, confident and happy to serve customers and proactively engage with potential future customers
• A commercial approach to drive sales and maximise margins, whilst ensuring customers always walk away happy
• Good organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and use own initiative
• Confident IT user, with experience of MS Office and industry standard software eg SAP
• A full and valid driving license is essential, and an FLT licence could be a distinct advantage
• Previous branch stock take experience could be a distinct advantage
• Comfortable to work in a small team and on occasion, alone
• Experience within a similar role ideally in a trade / builders merchant /retail, glazing or uPVC environment could be a distinct advantage
