Job Description

At Boeing, we innovate and collaborate to make the world a better place. We’re committed to fostering an environment that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive, with great opportunities for professional growth. Find your future with us.

We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Control Specialist to join our dynamic Global Trade Control (GTC) team, focused on the Defence business in the UK, but part of a larger group covering the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of UK and US export controls, practical experience in applying these controls, and the ability to guide defence programs and departments on compliance. Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—are essential to effectively convey complex legislation to diverse audiences.

The team values support and teamwork, encouraging diverse perspectives and continuous improvement.

Boeing’s defence operations involve various programs and sites, handling FMS and DCS contracts, and are critical to the UK MOD. This role can be based at RAF Lossiemouth or the Bristol Office.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze, interpret, and implement infrastructure for US ITAR/EAR and UK trade control requirements across programs and functions; assist with developing solutions to meet compliance and customer needs.
  2. Collaborate with GTC in the US to embed trade control requirements into daily operations, ensuring processes are compliant and culture-aware. Build strong relationships to support program objectives.
  3. Support UK defence teams in implementing corporate guidelines, authorizations, and requirements locally.
  4. Assist in developing strategies and infrastructure for authorizations and compliance in coordination with GTC US.
  5. Manage UK export licenses and coordinate with security for MOD approvals, considering nationalities involved in defence contracts.
  6. Operate within complex compliance infrastructures involving US and non-US exports, imports, FMS, DCS, and customs processes.
  7. Provide guidance on regulatory matters, promote a culture of compliance, and interpret new regulations affecting programs.
  8. Support audits, implement corrective actions, and monitor resolution progress.
  9. Communicate updates, assess risks, and proactively seek process improvements.
  10. Generate reports, metrics, and update procedures as needed.
  11. Develop and deliver training and briefings to the business.
  12. Maintain knowledge of UK HMRC regulations and awareness of AUKUS developments.
  13. Work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and continuously seeking improvements.

The GTC management style emphasizes empowerment, coaching, diversity, and personal development.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience with UK and US regulations, including UK Export Controls, US ITAR, and EAR.
  • Educational background typically includes a Bachelor's degree or higher in Legal, Policy, Supply Chain Management, Political Science, or related fields.
Boeing Benefits
  • Competitive salary, incentives, and comprehensive benefits including healthcare, pension, and paid leave.
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and personal development.
  • An inclusive and supportive work environment.
