Job Description:
Leonardo’s UK Trade Compliance team provides Import / Export Control and Trade Compliance services across the UK business units and divisions which cover a diverse range of technically advanced products and services from airborne radar, targeting solutions, infrared detectors, camera systems, cyber- and physical- security solutions, through to the design manufacture and supply of rotary aircraft used for commercial, public utility, security and defence applications.
The Trade Compliance team currently a vacancy for a Trade Compliance Administrator to support the activities of the Import/Export located in our Edinburgh facility.
What you’ll do as a Trade Compliance Administrator:
Submission of Import and Export customs instructions to agents in accordance with UK customs regulations and company procedures to facilitate customs declarations, including:
• Liaising with business to ensure correct and accurate clearance instructions can be issued to agent/import broker
• Instructing freight agent/ broker in accordance with business requirements
• Checking clearance information provided by agent/broker to ensure Leonardo instructions have been followed
• Checking customs entries following goods departure and address anomalies (with reference to site Trade Compliance lead)
• Addressing any anomalies identified (with reference to site Trade Compliance lead)
• Notifying business of import clearance conditions
• Develop an understanding of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)
General administration support to the site Import/Export Control team, including:
• Preparation of data packs relating to import and export transactions in readiness for internal and external audits, ensuring packs are recorded on company systems in accordance with company procedures
• Assisting with the preparation of reports for submission to UK authorities (such as Deferment reports and export licence transparency reports)
• Assisting with processing and reconciling Freight Forwarder invoices
The successful candidates will ideally have previous experience of working for multiple customers which will require good prioritisation of workload to align to the customer requirements.
The successful candidates will be self-motivated and set high personal work standards. Working as part of a team, the candidates will demonstrate collaborative and supportive behaviours. The ability to build strong and trusted relationships to achieve objectives is required.
It is essential that the successful candidate will is proficient users of Microsoft Outlook and competent users of all Microsoft packages in particular Word, Power Point and Excel.
