Leonardo’s UK Trade Compliance team provides Import / Export Control and Trade Compliance services across the UK business units and divisions, covering a diverse range of technically advanced products and services—from airborne radar and targeting solutions to infrared detectors, camera systems, cyber- and physical-security solutions, and the design, manufacture, and supply of rotary aircraft used for commercial, public utility, security, and defense applications.

The Trade Compliance team currently has a vacancy for a Trade Compliance Administrator to support activities related to Import/Export at our Edinburgh facility.

What you’ll do as a Trade Compliance Administrator:

  • Submit Import and Export customs instructions to agents in accordance with UK customs regulations and company procedures to facilitate customs declarations, including:
  • Liaise with the business to ensure correct and accurate clearance instructions are issued to agents/import brokers
  • Instruct freight agents/brokers according to business requirements
  • Check clearance information provided by agents/brokers to ensure Leonardo's instructions are followed
  • Verify customs entries after goods departure and address any anomalies (with reference to site Trade Compliance lead)
  • Address any anomalies identified (with reference to site Trade Compliance lead)
  • Notify the business of import clearance conditions
  • Develop an understanding of the Customs Declaration Service (CDS)

Provide general administration support to the site Import/Export Control team, including:

  • Prepare data packs related to import and export transactions for internal and external audits, ensuring records are maintained in accordance with company procedures
  • Assist in preparing reports for UK authorities, such as Deferment reports and export license transparency reports
  • Help process and reconcile Freight Forwarder invoices

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with multiple customers, requiring good workload prioritization aligned with customer needs. They should be self-motivated, set high personal standards, and demonstrate collaborative and supportive behaviors within a team. Building strong, trusted relationships to achieve objectives is essential.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and competence in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, are required.
