Join Our Client as a Trade Compliance Administrator!
Temporary Position - 3 Months (Potential for Permanent Role)
Pay: 14.00 to 17.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience)

Full time - 37.5hrs per week

Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is on the lookout for a dedicated Trade Compliance Administrator! This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a budding interest in customs, trade compliance, or international logistics shipping administration. About the Role:
As a Trade Compliance Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our client maintains the highest standards of compliance in trade and customs operations. Your contributions will help the organisation navigate the complexities of international logistics and trade regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise records of control classifications, tariff codes, and country of origin data in the ERP system.
  • Validate supplier documentation to guarantee customs compliance and audit readiness.
  • Monitor the export forward order book to ensure compliance data is complete and accurate before despatch.
  • Prepare and issue timely and accurate letters of instruction for all company imports.
  • Conduct compliance screening of customers using third-party watchlist tools and record results in the ERP system.
  • Provide classification and end-use declarations to customers and suppliers upon request.
  • Maintain data related to Inward Processing (IP) and support monthly returns to UK Customs.
  • Assist with audits and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the trade compliance function.
  • Escalate compliance risks or irregularities as necessary.

What We're Looking For:
Essential:

  • 6-24 months of experience in trade compliance, import/export administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of customs documentation and international shipping procedures.
  • Experience using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor).
  • High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of export control regulations (e.g., UK Strategic Export Control Lists, US EAR/ITAR).
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, commodity codes, and origin rules.
  • A keen interest in pursuing a career in global trade compliance.
