Job summary

Network Rail is recruiting for an entry‑level Track Operative in Scotland. Starting salary £32k with full training, no prior experience required.

You’ll learn to maintain drainage, fences, vegetation and crossings, working outdoors and around trains, with shift patterns including nights and weekends. You'll be part of a supportive team, progress through on‑the‑job training and potentially advance to Track Technician as you gain skills.

Qualifications

• Entry level role with full training provided.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather.
• Willingness to undergo medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain drainage, fencing, vegetation and level crossings to keep trains moving.
• Operate track maintenance tools and equipment as required.
• Learn from Track Technicians and progress through training.
