About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for Site Engineer - Track to join our Rail team as part of the Sizewell C project.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist with providing technical support to the Senior Project Engineer for planning and delivering the permanent way design on the Sizewell C Rail Scheme, ensuring all technical aspects comply with relevant standards, including Network Rail Group standards, Rail Safety and Standards Board standards, British Standards, and safety legislation.

What you'll be doing


  • Assist in the detailed planning and execution of Track Renewal and Enhancement Works as assigned by the Senior Project Engineer.

  • Monitor and ensure technical compliance on all works, both on-site and in the office.

  • Attend relevant meetings such as Whiteboard/Stage Gate meetings as required.

  • Manage work to meet financial targets, performance KRAs, and other KPIs.

  • Conduct surveys, plan and program work, provide technical supervision on site, and prepare necessary documents.

  • Prepare and submit Bar Charts/Time Chainage charts, WPPs, task briefs, and other site documentation for all works.

  • Perform safety inspections and submit Daily Work Returns (Planned vs Actual) promptly.

Who we're looking for


  • Experience in Track Renewals / Enhancements or similar environments.

  • Proficient knowledge of site technical activities and quality control, including surveying, setting out, dozing, and tamping.

  • Understanding of Network Rail standards.

  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Works Act 1974 and CDM Regulations 2015.

  • UK Driving Licence.

  • Experience with Trimble SPS930 and GPS Survey Equipment.

Desirable


  • PTS (Personal Track Safety).

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related field.
