TPD General surgery for the West Midlands (South Area)
An outstanding individual is sought to fulfil the role of Training Programme Director for General Surgery.
The post will be available on a secondment arrangement to NHS England - 1 PA (4 hours) per week.
All work undertaken is to be incorporated into the Consultant Job Plan. The role of Training Programme Director is to work and support the Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the NHS England mandate.
The Training Programme Director is professionally and managerially accountable to the Head of School. The role will focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, engaging faculty, and ensuring effective educational outcomes, both now and in the future. The role is evolving to include whole workforce transformation, developing multi-professional links, innovative curriculum delivery, and workforce well-being strategies.
To support the Postgraduate Dean, Training Programme Directors work across health and social care sectors, reflecting changing service models. The aim is to deliver an integrated workforce from diverse professional backgrounds.
