Job summary

SourceFlow is seeking a TP141 Commissioning Engineer to lead site activities on a 400kV GIS substation project in London. You will oversee testing, energisation, and handover, coordinating protection, control, SCADA, and auxiliary systems, with a focus on safety and procedures.

The role requires authorisation, strong UK transmission experience, and hands-on GIS knowledge, with a December-like project timeline and potential for continued work on the UK transmission pipeline.

Qualifications

• Understanding of UK commissioning procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Act as the authorised TP141 Commissioning Engineer for site commissioning activities.
• Plan and execute commissioning activities for a new 400kV GIS substation.
• Lead testing and commissioning of GIS, transformers and associated primary plant.
• Coordinate protection, control, interlocking, SCADA/SCS and auxiliary systems commissioning.
• Support integration of new assets into the existing transmission network.
• Review commissioning plans, test procedures, ITPs, switching programmes and energisation documentation.
• Oversee functional, protection, interlocking and end-to-end testing.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, client, OEM and subcontractor teams.
• Support outage planning, energisation and defect resolution.
• Maintain commissioning and handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with transmission procedures, project specifications and safety requirements.
