Job summary

Toxicology Technical Specialist role in Warrington within a forensic testing organisation. The position is full-time and onsite, Monday to Friday, daytime hours.

Key duties include managing day-to-day instrument operations, coordinating installation and maintenance of LC-MS/MS and HS-GC-FID systems, and providing troubleshooting support for hardware, software, and analytical issues. ISO 17025 laboratory experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Experience with LC-MS/MS and HS-GC-FID.
• Experience in instrument setup, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Waters and SCIEX instrumentation is desirable.
• Excellent understanding of drug extraction techniques, notably LLE and SPE.
• A thorough understanding of immunoassay, chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques (such as ELISA, HS-GC-FID and LC-MS/MS and HPLC).
• Experience working within an ISO 17025 laboratory environment.

In this role, you will have overall responsibility for the laboratory's chromatography and mass instrumentation instrument.

Your main duties will be:

• Manage the day-to-day operation and performance of all equipment and analytical instruments
• Coordinate instrument installation, setup, commissioning, maintenance and servicing
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support for instrument hardware, software and analytical issues.
• Manage and support instrument software.
• Monitor instrument performance and coordinate corrective actions when required.

Your Background:

• Strong practical experience with LC-MS/MS and HS-GC-FID.
