Are you a proactive and commercially minded planning professional ready to make a real impact? We're looking for a Town Planning Manager to join our client's Leicester office and help shape the future of their residential developments across the Midlands.
As one of the UK's most respected housebuilders, our client is committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable homes that meet the needs of growing communities. In this key role, you'll play a central part in securing planning consents, identifying land opportunities, and ensuring the timely delivery of their pipeline.
Lead on the preparation, submission, and negotiation of planning applications for residential developments
Manage relationships with local authorities, consultants, and external stakeholders
Monitor Local Plans and planning policy changes across key authority areas
Provide strategic advice on planning risks and opportunities for land acquisition
Work closely with the land, design, and technical teams to align planning strategy with business objectives
Represent the business at planning committees, appeals, and public consultations as required
MRTPI qualified with significant experience in residential planning
Strong track record in securing planning consents, ideally for volume housebuilding or strategic land
Deep understanding of the UK planning system and policy landscape
Commercially aware with excellent negotiation and communication skills
Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively
Experience working for a housebuilder, consultancy, or local authority in a planning leadership role
