Planning Professional (Part-Time & Remote)

A unique opportunity for an experienced and pragmatic planning professional to work directly with a private client, offering expert guidance on a range of complex planning and environmental matters. This role would suit someone with a background in local authority planning, statutory undertakers, or consultancy—bringing both policy insight and practical delivery skills. A chance to work in a scenic, rural setting while engaging with complex, impactful planning matters

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on planning and environmental legislation
  • Support neighbourhood plan development and progression
  • Review and provide a pragmatic perspective on local planning applications
  • Conduct research and prepare reports for planning committees and local matters
  • Monitor and interpret local plan developments and proposals
  • Offer informed recommendations on environmental and sustainability considerations
  • Maintain confidential correspondence and sensitive documentation

What You’ll Need

  • MRTPI preferred, or significant relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of planning processes and legislation
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in close collaboration with the employer
  • IT proficiency and confidence in producing professional reports and briefings
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Interest in environmental, ecological, and sustainability matters desirable
