Overview

Town Planner - Whiteley

Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be supporting a successful residential developer with the appointment of a Town Planner to join their busy Planning team in Whiteley. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a hands-on role where you'll be involved in the full planning process, from site inception through to receipt of planning permissions and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications, conditions, and appeal documentation.
  • Monitoring and reviewing local planning policy, including strategies relating to transport, climate change, green infrastructure, and housing.
  • Representing the company at Planning Committee and Public Consultation meetings.
  • Managing relationships with Local Planning Authorities, external consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Conducting research to support planning applications and maintaining accurate records of policies and site information.
  • Negotiating with external consultants, obtaining quotations, and contributing to project evaluation.
About You
  • A degree in town planning, geography, or a related subject.
  • A minimum of 2 years' post-graduate planning experience, ideally within a planning consultancy, local authority, or residential developer.
  • Strong understanding of planning processes and local planning policy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with confidence to represent projects in public forums.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
