The Role
As a Strategic Planner, you will support the Senior Strategic Planning Manager in promoting a portfolio of strategic land sites. Your work will focus on preparing planning strategies, promoting sites through the Local Plan process, and securing planning permissions that contribute to the company's goal of delivering 60% of homes via strategic land.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Undertaking planning appraisals for new land opportunities
* Assisting in the preparation of planning promotion strategies and applications
* Engaging with Local Plans, consultations, and monitoring housing land supply
* Coordinating consultants, managing budgets, and building relationships with stakeholders
* Supporting landowner communications and monitoring the strategic land bank
* Providing planning input to secure new land opportunities
* Keeping up to date with planning policy and best practice
About You:
* RTPI-accredited degree in town planning or a related discipline
* Minimum 2 years' experience in planning (housebuilding, consultancy, land promoter or local authority)
* Strong knowledge of planning policy and the planning application process for large residential schemes
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable:
* Working towards RTPI accreditation
* Experience preparing Local Plan representations and planning applications
* Strong research and report-writing skills
