Town Planner

Location: Gloucestershire

Salary: £30k - £40k

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long-term planning strategies for urban development, land use, and infrastructure.
  • Prepare and review planning applications, zoning proposals, and development plans.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning regulations and policies.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on land use, zoning laws, transportation systems, and community services.
  • Engage with the public and community groups to gather input on proposed projects and developments.
  • Monitor and analyse trends in urban development, housing needs, and environmental impacts.
  • Draft reports, presentations, and planning documents for submission to local councils and government bodies.
  • Stay updated on current legislation, best practices, and technological advancements in town planning.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in town planning, urban development, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning policies, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
