Town Planner
Location: Gloucestershire
Salary: £30k - £40k
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term planning strategies for urban development, land use, and infrastructure.
- Prepare and review planning applications, zoning proposals, and development plans.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
- Collaborate with local authorities, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning regulations and policies.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on land use, zoning laws, transportation systems, and community services.
- Engage with the public and community groups to gather input on proposed projects and developments.
- Monitor and analyse trends in urban development, housing needs, and environmental impacts.
- Draft reports, presentations, and planning documents for submission to local councils and government bodies.
- Stay updated on current legislation, best practices, and technological advancements in town planning.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
- Proven experience in town planning, urban development, or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of planning policies, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in GIS software and planning tools.
- A commitment to sustainability and environmentally-conscious development.
