Job summary

Osborne Richardson is seeking a Town Planner on behalf of a Local Authority in East London to support the DM team in clearing a planning backlog. You will handle a large caseload of planning applications and pre-applications, ensuring determinations meet statutory timeframes and local targets.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of UK planning experience, strong knowledge of planning legislation, and can work under pressure. Public sector DM experience preferred; hybrid working arrangements offered.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' recent planning experience.
• Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning legislation.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Public sector Development Management experience preferred, however private sector considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large and varied caseload of planning applications and pre-applications.
• Determine applications within statutory timeframes and local targets.
• Organise workloads and meet timescales and project milestones.
• Potentially oversee the work of junior officers.
