An exciting opportunity has arisen for Planners at all levels to join a dynamic and forward-thinking planning consultancy based in York. Whether you are a Planner, Senior Planner, Principal, or Associate Director, this role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects and make a meaningful impact in the industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning services, collaborating with urban designers, and ensuring successful project outcomes. Responsibilities will include:
  1. Managing planning projects from inception to completion.
  2. Providing strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders.
  3. Preparing planning applications and supporting documentation.
  4. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  5. Leading and mentoring junior team members.
  6. Contributing to business development and identifying new opportunities.
  7. Representing the company at meetings, public consultations, and events.
  8. Collaborating with urban designers to develop creative planning solutions.

About You

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Chartered Membership of RTPI or equivalent (required for Principals and Associate Directors).
  • Experience in planning consultancy:
    1. Planners: 3+ years
    2. Senior Planners: 5+ years
    3. Associate Directors: 8+ years
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and ambitious approach to planning and development.
  • Familiarity with planning-related software is a plus.
