We work on a range of high-profile projects, including some of the country’s largest and most significant infrastructure developments, and we’re looking to expand our team with a driven Planner to help deliver excellence for our clients.

The Role:

As a Planner, you will play a key role in supporting our planning team on various applications and projects. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues to further develop your technical expertise and grow your career in planning.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Project Management: Manage project budgets, work in progress, and ensure financial success. Take responsibility for medium-scale projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
  • Planning Applications: Draft and manage planning applications, pre-application enquiries, appeals, and undertake basic planning appraisals and research.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and external parties to ensure smooth project delivery. Manage senior client relationships and negotiate positive outcomes.
  • Community Engagement: Assist with community engagement activities, committee meetings, and public consultations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure the accurate preparation of planning submissions and supporting information.
  • Site Visits: Attend occasional site visits and client meetings to ensure that projects are progressing as planned.

About You:

We’re looking for a passionate and motivated individual who is eager to grow and make a meaningful contribution to our work. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications: RTPI accredited degree or Masters in a relevant discipline, and ideally, you should be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or working towards it.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year’s experience in the planning industry (public or private sector).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, client liaison, and negotiation skills. Strong report writing and project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of the UK planning process, including regulations, procedures, and best practices.

What’s On Offer:

  • Health & Well-Being: Private medical insurance, discounted gym memberships, and access to an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enhanced annual leave, hybrid working options, and loyalty leave.
  • Incentives & Rewards: A company bonus scheme, team celebrations, and defined promotion windows throughout the year.
  • Future Security: Enhanced pension scheme, death in service cover, and a focus on long-term well-being.
  • Professional Development: Continuous learning opportunities, CPD time, and support for professional membership.

Why Join?

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a consultancy that shapes the future of infrastructure and planning across the UK. We offer a vibrant workplace with opportunities for growth and the chance to work on some of the most exciting projects in the industry.

If you’re a motivated planner looking to take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
