We do offer hybrid working - 3 days minimum in the office. We also offer flexible hours from 7-10am to 3-6pm (minimum 37.5-hour week). We are a progressive and fast-growing specialist development management company experiencing a significant surge in demand for our planning services.

As a result, we're looking for a talented, driven, and experienced Planner to become a key part of our expanding, multidisciplinary in-house team. About the Role

As a Planner, you'll manage high-profile and complex projects from inception through the planning process. You'll work closely with our in-house design team, external architects, and a broad network of specialist consultants.

The role offers genuine responsibility and scope to lead, grow, and contribute to a diverse range of schemes nationwide.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking someone with a strong planning background who is passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for clients and communities alike. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience & Qualifications: A degree in Geography, Urban Planning, or a related subject (2:1 or above).
  • 3-4 years of experience in planning, ideally within a private consultancy or development environment.
  • Chartered Membership of the RTPI (or eligibility for chartered status).
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver complex planning projects.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the planning process for a portfolio of projects, ensuring quality outcomes and timely delivery.
  • Prepare, review, and sign off on planning reports and supporting documentation.
  • Offer strategic advice to clients navigating the planning system and regulatory frameworks.
  • Represent the company at planning committees, public consultations, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Manage planning application submissions, including pre-application consultations, supporting documents, and discharge of conditions.
  • Prepare planning policy documents and conduct feasibility assessments.
  • Use GIS and other tools to evaluate site suitability and inform strategic decisions.
  • Track and report on planning applications, appeals, and other key planning activities.
  • Advise on planning conditions, enforcement, and variations throughout the RIBA project lifecycle (Stages 1-6).
  • Foster continuous improvement within the planning function, promoting innovation and best practices.
