Property Development Planner - Manchester

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced planner to join a property development team in Manchester! This role involves providing strategic property and commercial real estate support across various sectors including new build, residential, and industrial projects.

About Your New Company:

An established business renowned for delivering first-class projects to a diverse range of clients. You will manage projects from tender to completion, overseeing planning, programming, and reporting to ensure timely and within-budget delivery, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Devise and implement planning programs for all active sites.
2. Oversee all aspects of planning strategy, including pre-application, consultation, and stakeholder engagement.
3. Collaborate with colleagues and partners to ensure successful development delivery.
4. Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams.
5. Prepare planning applications and appeals.
6. Conduct commercial and planning appraisals for prospective sites and provide investment recommendations.
7. Act as the point of contact for local authorities and statutory consultees.
8. Provide planning advice and work with stakeholders to manage risks throughout project phases.

Key Requirements:

• Chartered planner qualification is preferred.
• Degree qualification with at least 3 years' experience in a planning role within a Local Planning Authority, consultancy, or development company.
• Strong knowledge of the planning system and development processes.
• Experience with pre-construction activities.
• Ability to interpret drawings and produce material take-offs and schedules.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with excellent workload management skills.
• Experience attending and speaking at planning committee meetings.
• Ability to implement subcontractor requirements.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety files and plans is advantageous.
• Legal right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available).
