Job summary

Carrington West in Chichester is seeking a Town Planner to join a well‑established planning consultancy. You will contribute to a broad portfolio across residential, commercial, mixed‑use and strategic development projects in a supportive, collaborative team.

You will handle planning applications, policy research, and client advisory work, liaising with local authorities and stakeholders while developing your MRTPI journey where applicable.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• MRTPI membership or progress towards chartership (preferred).
• Experience in planning consultancy, local authority or developer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proactive approach and genuine passion for planning.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals.
• Undertaking planning appraisals and policy research.
• Providing planning advice to a varied client base.
• Liaising with local planning authorities and key stakeholders.
• Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
• Monitoring planning policy changes and relevant legislation.

The Role
