Job summary

Vivid Resourcing is recruiting a Town Planner to join an established private sector planning consultancy in Bedford. You will take responsibility for your own projects while advising clients throughout the development process on a varied portfolio spanning residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes.

The role offers a hybrid working pattern, excellent development opportunities and support towards RTPI chartership, with clear progression within a collaborative team of planning professionals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Experience in consultancy or local authority environment.
• Good knowledge of the UK planning system and development management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management abilities.
• Proactive approach and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documents.
• Providing planning advice to private and public sector clients.
• Undertaking planning appraisals and development potential assessments.
• Researching planning policy and interpreting national and local planning guidance.
• Managing planning applications and liaising with local planning authorities.
• Attending client meetings, site visits and planning committees where appropriate.
• Supporting the preparation of planning statements, appeals and other planning documents.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and planning officers.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the consultancy.

RTPI membership or progress towards chartership would be advantageous, although candidates with the right experience and potential will also be considered.
