This is a rewarding role at the heart of the community, helping to ensure that our Grade II Listed Town Hall runs smoothly and remains a welcoming space for all — whether it’s for council meetings, local events, private hires, or daily use by staff and tenants.

What You’ll Do:

Be the go-to person on site, ensuring the Town Hall is well-maintained, secure, and ready for use.
Carry out maintenance and repairs, and oversee the general condition of the building.
Support cleaning standards by managing occasional spot cleaning and stepping in when regular cleaners are unavailable.
Open and close the building for bookings and events, ensuring everything runs safely and efficiently.
Monitor and review risk assessments, helping to ensure the Town Hall meets health and safety requirements.
Be a helpful, approachable presence for users of the building — you’re the eyes and ears of the Town Hall.

What We’re Looking For:

A proactive, hands-on approach and good attention to detail.
Experience in building maintenance or caretaking.
Awareness of health and safety procedures (training can be provided).
Strong communication skills and a helpful, community-minded attitude.
Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and bank holidays (with notice).

Why Join Us?

Be part of a team that cares about its community.
Varied, active work with real impact.
Flexible part-time hours and supportive working environment.
Training and support provided where needed.

Hours and Pay:

24 hours per week over 4 days
