Role Description

Newcastle College invites applications from dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about education and student progression. We are seeking a qualified and dynamic individual to join us as a Lecturer.

In this role, you will deliver and assess high-quality learning experiences. Responsibilities include monitoring student retention and progress, implementing interventions to help students meet their targets, and communicating effectively with parents/guardians, external agencies, and colleagues. You will also promote high standards in teaching and learning, fostering an environment conducive to student success. Patience, empathy, and a positive outlook are essential to support student development and maintain a nurturing learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have an honours degree or equivalent, preferably with a post-16 teaching qualification, and English and maths at Level 2 or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe. Experience in FE, HE, or Apprenticeships, along with successful teaching and assessment practice, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, digital literacy, and the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines are prerequisites. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed is also important.
